Job Description

Our company is looking for a proactive, results-driven Accounts Payable Manager to join our dynamic and evolving team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in enhancing operational efficiency by overseeing the Accounts Payable function and leading process improvements.

Position Overview:

As the Accounts Payable Manager , you will lead the AP team and manage all aspects of vendor payments, discrepancy resolution, and internal controls. You will also collaborate closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, including workload distribution and performance monitoring.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls for Accounts Payable processes.
  • Oversee and review weekly payment runs.
  • Resolve payment discrepancies by liaising with vendors and internal teams.
  • Partner with branch locations and purchasing departments to troubleshoot issues.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
  • Support vendor credit applications and review payment terms.
  • Set up and maintain vendor records, including sales tax documentation.
  • Post adjustments to vendor accounts as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audit documentation and requests.
  • Process invoices for payment when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the VP of Finance, Accounting Center.
  • Take on increasing responsibility as proficiency and interest are demonstrated.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects to drive process improvements.
  • Ensure all AP activities comply with company approval policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • 2–3 years of leadership experience managing a team.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities; capable of handling multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships and influencing outcomes.
  • Proven leadership and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations and adjusting to shifting priorities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • High level of accountability and ownership for individual and team performance.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation: Our salary range is $100-110k/yr. dependent on experience.
