Job Description

Position Summary:

The Embedded Commercial Security Technician is responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial security systems, including access control, IP video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems. Embedded in corporate complex overseeing security systems for multiple buildings. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, program, test, and service commercial electronic security systems, including: Access control systems, IP video surveillance (CCTV) systems, Intrusion and alarm systems
• Pull, terminate, and dress low-voltage cabling (CAT5/6, coax, fiber)
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
• Diagnose and resolve system faults, communication failures, and equipment issues
• Perform system testing and commissioning to meet manufacturer and customer requirements
• Provide end-user training on installed systems
• Maintain clear documentation of work performed, materials used, and service reports
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure smooth project delivery
• Follow safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices on all job sites

Required Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience installing and servicing commercial security systems
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and installation manuals
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electronic testing equipment
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with networking principles (IP addressing, PoE, switches)
• System Certifications in Software House, DMP, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon are a bonus but not required

Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders or lifts, and work indoors/outdoors
• Regularly exposed to construction environments, requiring use of PPE
