Job Description

Goal: The Finance Manager will play a critical role in driving the financial success of our rapidly expanding restaurant portfolio. This individual will leverage their expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure the profitability and sustainability of all restaurant units. By implementing standardized reporting processes, managing P&L statements, and identifying financial opportunities across locations, the Finance Manager will provide valuable insights that guide strategic decision-making. Through efficient oversight of accounts payable, cash management, and tax compliance, the Finance Manager will help optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall financial health of the company as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for all 12 restaurant locations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify financial trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement across all units, providing actionable insights to drive performance.
  • Develop and present comprehensive financial reports to the leadership team, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for focus.
  • Standardize and streamline reporting processes across all restaurant units, ensuring consistency and efficiency in financial data management.
  • Create detailed financial forecasts and budgets that align with business goals, ensuring resource allocation supports growth and profitability.
  • Build and maintain pro forma financial models to assess new restaurant openings, expansions, and other business initiatives.
  • Track actual performance against financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing explanations to improve future forecasting accuracy.
  • Provide insights into strategic decision-making based on financial projections
  • Oversee daily cash management processes, ensuring accurate tracking and forecasting of cash inflows and outflows.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow across all units, ensuring financial stability and supporting expansion plans.
  • Supervise the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expenses, and payments.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable payment terms and pricing, contributing to cost control and profitability.
  • Implement efficient workflows and approval processes for accounts payable, improving operational efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Liaise with external tax consultants to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, minimizing risk and liability.
  • Coordinate year-end tax preparation and filing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns.
  • Identify and capitalize on potential tax-saving opportunities, improving the company's financial position.
  • Maintain well-organized financial documentation for tax purposes and internal audit readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive financial management experience; some experience in restaurants or hospitality industry a plus but not required
  • Expert knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strong experience with P&L management and cash flow optimization
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and pro forma development
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
  • Knowledge of restaurant-specific financial metrics and KPIs preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Work Environment:

  • This position is full-time, 40 hours, exempt salary.
  • This position is 100% in-person, at our company headquarters in Columbus, OH
  • This position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer
  • Some travel to restaurant locations may be required (approximately 10-15%)
