If you are a paralegal with at least 5 years of experience with estate planning and business transactional work, you might be the key team member we are seeking.

Specifically, we are looking for someone with experience drafting estate planning and business documents in Wealth Counsel, as well as estate administration (trust and probate) experience. If you have experience preparing deeds and managing trademark and copyright portfolios, that is a big bonus. 

Res Nova Law is an entrepreneurial law firm with a mission of making the lives of families and small business owners better. We are seeking a sharp, driven and friendly Paralegal to become part of our team. 

This is a part-time, salaried position with plenty of room to grow into a full-time position within six months to a year . We are implementing new systems and tools, and need your help and support as we adopt new work processes that drive our Estate Planning and Business Law practices.

We currently work virtually, but we have shared office space to meet with our team members and clients in Portland, OR and Vancouver and Camas, WA.  We are open during typical business hours, and you will be expected to work the bulk of your hours within that period. In the future, we may need your help with presentations and marketing events outside of these hours 1-2 days per month.

You must be comfortable working in various software systems that support our business process, to serve our clients and ensure they have a “Wow!” experience every time they interact with our office.

We are a small team, which means we support each other and do our best to delight the customer. You will need to be reliable, self-driven and quality-minded, flexible and adaptable, and willing to jump in and help where help is needed. On a typical day, you will be taking potential client calls, scheduling appointments, drafting legal documents, updating internal systems and helping with deeds and client estate planning binders.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

· Composure & multi-tasker;

· Customer Service;

· Organized & detail oriented;

· Fundamentals of business math;

· Legal writing and terminology;

· OR & WA State Bar knowledge;

· Business communication skills;

· AA or paralegal certification;

· 5+ years as a paralegal;

· Experience using LEXIS or WESTLAW

· Estate Planning and Business Law experience; Real Estate and IP Experience is a plus.

· Microsoft Tools – OneDrive, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint;

· Quick learner, time management and problem-solving skills;

· Experience with Lawmatics, Clio, DecisionVault, and LawPay IT systems is a plus;

· Experience with Wealth Docx is a must; Experience with Wealth Tracx, Business Docx, Elder Docx or Trustate is a plus.

If you are the right person, you will be ready to jump in and make things work when necessary. Your focus will be on drafting and revising estate plans and business documents to meet our clients’ needs, and with plenty of input from our founding attorney. We may also ask you to help with our marketing efforts, getting our lawyers out in the community, setting up speaking engagements, identifying expos for us to attend, exhibit and speak at, and auctions where we can contribute, and otherwise getting our firm seen and heard in the community.

You must be able to think on your feet and make smart decisions. Is this an easy job? Definitely not. Job Type: Part-time to start

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week to start
