Job Description

• High School graduate or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in medical records knowledge is highly recommended
• Needs to pass a basic background check for criminal history, drug screening & OIG exclusions

• Responsible for collecting New Patient paperwork information on our website or packets that are mailed in to the office and entering information correctly and precisely into the EMR.
• Checking fax folders of records and routing them correctly to the clinical staff.
• Verifying insurance information on the paperwork is correct and active prior to the patient’s appointment
• Answering busy phone lines handling medical records request
• Strong communication with Call Center employees and clinical team regarding referrals, hospital records, etc.
• Handling incoming requests for medical records requests to be mailed or faxed.

• Knowledge of medical terminology experience and EMR knowledge preferred
• Strong knowledge of Medical Records preferred
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently when required / appropriate
